Capitol of Texas Park Dedication: on Friday, October 3rd in West Columbia, Texas

posted in Education [more from this topic] by brazoria_wcmz on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 @ 11:58:10 CDT

We want everyone in the State of Texas to be aware of the First Capitol of the Republic of Texas Park Dedication on October 3, 2008 at 2 p.m.. Walgreen’s Pharmacy and land developers graciously gave West Columbia a 30’ x 300’ piece of land to develop "The Capitol of Texas Park - A walk Through the Birth of Texas". The park will consist of a walking path with 20 granite stations depicting the events that took place from October 3, 1836 until Texas became a State. A garden with native Texas plants, Texas and American Flags, the seal of the Republic of Texas and the recently discovered cistern near the original marker that was placed in 1936.
